Welcome to our eighteenth Bergen County Camera Customer Spotlight. This monthly posting features a customer who’s made an impression on us. They might have grown in their understanding of photography, gained a mastery of the craft and / or have become a strong advocate of our way of doing business in the world of photography. During the next month you will see this customer’s images displayed on our digital signs in store, in our emails, blog posts and social media.
Brian Jenkins is our customer spotlight for the month of March. We hope you both enjoy and are inspired by this new addition to In Focus and look forward to your comments and suggestions. Below you will find a word from Brian, followed by some of his images in the gallery below.
“About 12 years ago, I was in search of a hobby and thought photography might be a good choice. My first interaction with BCC was with Tom. I told him I was thinking about getting more serious about photography and wanted better image quality—Nikon or Canon? Most salespeople would have put 3 cameras in front of me and pushed for the sale. Instead, Tom asked about my passion. What’s important to you? Landscapes and nature have always inspired me. Before I knew it, Tom was showing me beautiful photos of one of his great loves—music concerts. We didn’t talk cameras and lenses that day, but Tom’s joy of photography was very convincing.
I enjoy cityscapes and architecture, but landscapes and animals are my main focus. Photography has pushed me to capture beautiful Blue Herons at The Celery Farm, great views of New York City, The Everglades, Montana, Cornwall, and The American West. When a scene fills you with a sense of awe, it’s great to capture that moment and share it with others in the hope that someone else will want to go there, too.
Thanks to all my friends at BCC for years of education, advice, and encouragement. Photography is a great adventure, and you’ve helped me capture so many beautiful moments.”

These spotlights allow me to see other photographers wonderful work. I have so enjoyed seeing these images of yours Brian.
Absolutely beautiful and stunning images! Can you tell me what camera and lens you were using?
Thanks, Bruce. The images shown are with Nikon cameras (mostly a D610) and mostly Nikon lenses. The 24-70 is a favorite for landscapes. To really zoom in on wildlife, I use a Tamron 150-600.
