“I wish to thank Bergen Camera for spotlighting me this month; I’m very humbled.

I’ve been taking photographs for 40 plus years in my practice of dentistry.  Utilizing my Minolta 101 with extension tubes and ring flash, I’ve recorded intraoral photos of my patient before, during, and after the completion of their dental work.  It was sometimes challenging but often rewarding, like the rest of photography.

My first venture into digital photography was with an Olympus 8080, an 8 megapixel camera which I used during my early travels.   As iPhones came onto the scene, I better developed my skill set with a variety of those models and editing apps.

In 2018, I traveled to Africa and realized I needed more zoom power than the iPhone could provide but was concerned with the weight limit of the small aircraft in which we were traveling.  (44 pounds total, per person).  Alan, at Bergen guided me into the Panasonic Lumix G85 which perform nicely for my needs at that time.

After a great deal of shooting with that camera, I realized I needed (wanted) more out of my gear.  Again, Alan and I explored the Sony A7iv which has been a true pleasure to shoot with.

My current photography style is shooting landscapes, architecture, astrophotography, and travel photos.  In addition, I really enjoy telling a story with my photos in video format put to music.  It’s a unique art form that I also find very rewarding.   The photo’s I’ve selected represent some of my travel adventures.

I can’t say enough about all the staff at Bergen Camera: Alan, Steve, Paul, John, Jeremy, and Matt.  Everybody there, at some point in time,  has either provided me with valuable information, advice, inspiration, or creative ideas for shooting techniques and styles.

I come to Bergen Camera not just for the photo products; I can purchase those online if I choose.  But rather, I purchase my cameras at BCC for the support and knowledge that I could get nowhere else!”
