Bergen County Hazardous Waste Days 2025 – Most photo chemicals are considered hazardous waste so this is a great opportunity to safely dispose of what you are no longer using. This event is open to Bergen County, New Jersey residents only with photo ID. The following items are no accepted so please do not bring computers, electronics, batteries (only car and rechargeable accepted), or tires to these collections. If you have questions please call the Bergen County Hazardous Waste Hotline 201-807-5825. Information for other New Jersey Counties can be found at the NJ Hazardous Waste Coordinators website.

Three Locations in Bergen County: Paramus, Mahwah and Moonachie

Paramus – Bergen Community College – 400 Paramus Road (Entry via Paramus Rd. ONLY)
Sunday – April 6 – June 8 – October 19 – 9:00am-3:00pm
Mahwah – Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation – 200 Campgaw Road (Ski Area)
Saturday – May 10 – July 19 – September 6 – 9:00am-3:00pm
Moonachie – Bergen County Utility Authority – Foot of Empire Blvd. (Entry via Empire Blvd. ONLY)
Saturday – March 8 – November 15- 9:00am-3:00pm
*All collection sites open (rain or shine) at 9:00 a.m. and close promptly at 3:00 p.m.

Hi! Gas cans can be brought in, but the container will not be returned to you. Propane Gas Cylinders are also accepted (1 lb. and 20 lb. only)
